Working late, then getting up early does catch up. I was so tired, when the alarm went off one morning, I was trying to think /dream about PB&J sandwiches, but I was for some reason was dreaming about them as as PB&L sandwiches. I was a whole two letters off.

I saw this on the Frugal Freelancer - thanks Angie
the silence is deafening
My son left for the school bus at 6:30 am and my husband left a few minutes later. He is starting a new job today after being unemployed since April. Amen.
the house is so quiet.
edited to add: after arriving he completed new hire paperwork, and wasnt able to work in that position due to a minor surgery he had a year ago. So he is back to looking for work. Prayers are appreciated - for everyone affected by this economy. I am fortunate to work at home as a customer service agent. I speak to people nightly that are hurting in this economy. On my heart this week: a lady in GA that is recovering from an illness whose employment was cut back. Her monthly income was reduced to 551.00. Her rent is 550.00 and the landlord isn't willing to renegotiate.

I'm so defensive about my driving
yea, I got a ticket a few months ago, and was able to opt for the defensive driving option. It is pretty painful to have teen drivers on your policy and I really dont want to add any extra cost to the bill. Somehow, I managed to get the date mixed up in my head and gave myself an extra 2 weeks to complete the class... so after a quick check and a frantic call to the court, I had to take defensive driving in one afternoon.
insert slight panic attack here.
Anyway I had received a few postcards outing me as a criminal to anyone who was within eyesight of the postcard... conveniently offering defensive driving over the web. So of course, I picked the prettiest one and pulled up the website.
$25.00 and six hours later I have survived a defensive driving class. You know, it wasnt the worst one I have ever had either...
What was your defensive driving experience like?

The Cheese Worked Me Over
Disappointing.
When you open up the box
to reveal
an extra large cheese pizza.
I am so not a vegetarian.
My night was saved with a phone call.
There is nothing like a "works "pizza.
The End.

Cambells Tomato Soup - your ideas needed
So, I am in South Texas , just outside of Houston. As you have heard we have some very flavorful food here. I dont normally cook with a can of tomato soup, but with budget constraints I am tying to use what I have in the pantry. I have found a few recipes that use it, but am still undecided. So... what are your tried and true recipe favorites using tomato soup. This is the recipe I am considering: Porcupine Meatballs from food.com. They are one of my favorite websites and are formerly known as recipezaar.com I guess I am afraid of a very bland recipe. I cannot add anything really spicy, but I guess I am looking to impart alot of flavor. So, if you have any ideas to improve on the following recipe they are welcome. I really want my family to say "Hey, this is great, make this again! Or, something along the lines of that statement.
Porcupine Meatballs
Ingredients:Serves: 4 -5 ,
Servings: 20
1 lb ground beef
1/4 cup long grain rice, uncooked
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, snipped or 1/2 tablespoon dried parsley
2 tablespoons onions, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 dash pepper
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can tomato soup, divided
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Directions:Prep Time: 15 mins
Total Time: 55 mins
1 Combine ground beef, rice, egg, parsley, onion, salt, pepper, and 1/4 cup of the tomato soup. Mix well. 2 Shape mixture into about 20 small meatballs. 3 Place meatballs in a large skillet. 4 Mix rest of soup, water, and Worcestershire in a small bowl; pour over meatballs. 5 Bring to a boil. 6 Reduce heat; cover; and simmer 40 mintes or until meatballs are cooked and rice is soft, stirring often.
